Circulars 1-31CIRCULAR 17 March 1998Information from the SecretariatTRAINING SEMINARS/WORKSHOPSFollowing on from Circular 16 in January, the Secretariat would like to provide an update on developments on the training seminars/workshops. The two seminars/workshops to be held in Shanghai are:

The content of the course will cover automatic rail-weighbridges as per OIML R106, totalising hopper weighers as per OIML R107, and belt weighers as per OIML R50. This workshop will be very practical with each participant having access to a non- automatic weighing instrument and a set of certified masses to conduct all the testing procedures themselves. As well as this, participants will be given instruction, practice and ideas on how to conduct their own training courses within their own economy. Each participant will receive the full training module which includes the trainers manual, first edition of the procedure manual and the training video. As this workshop is to be very practical, the number of participants able to attend will be strictly limited to between 10 - 20 persons to ensure maximum success. The tentative program for the two workshops is as follows:
Funding support has been received to provide some financial assistance to developing member economies to fund one participant per developing economy to attend the workshops. It would greatly assist the Secretariat in planning if member economies would return the attached Application Form to indicate their interest and the number of participants who would be attending the seminars/workshops.
