DECEMBER

  • The Secretariat will be closed from December 27 to January 3 AND from January 6 to 8.

  • The Executive Secretary attended the 22nd APMP General Assembly on December 15 & 16.

  • The Greeting Cards were sent out on December 11.

  • The invoice of the APLMF Memberhsip Fee for 2007 has been sent to the full member economies. The payment due is April 30, 2007.

  • The registration for the Workshop on Metrology of Agricultural Products and Foods is now open. This workshop is scheduled on February 7-9, 2007 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The registration and hotel reservation forms are available online.

NOVEMBER

  • The 14th APLMF Meetings will be held in Shanghai, P.R. China in October 2007.

  • The 13th APLMF Meetings were held from November 15 though 17 at Furama City Centre Singapore. 50 delegates and guests from 16 member economies and International / Regional Metrology Organizations atteded the meeting. The Meeting documents are now available online.

  • The room rates of the venue for the 13th Meetings are going to increase effective from November 6.
    • If you have not made a reservation, please send the APLMF hotel reservation form as soon as possible.

  • The deadline to turn in the 13th meeting documents is November 5. The last chance to turn in the documents is on November 14 at the reception desk prepared on the 5th floor of Furama City Centre. Please note all documents submitted after November 5 will not be included in the meeting booklets.

OCTOBER

  • The President attended the 41st CIML Meeting held in Capetown from October 14 to 20.

  • Dr. Grahame Harvey, Chair of APLMF WG on Pattern Compliance, was elected as the vice president of CIML.

  • The deadline for the 13th APLMF Meetings registration has passed. If you have not submitted your registration, please contact us as soon as possible.

SEPTEMBER

  • The President attended the APEC/SCSC meeting held in Danang, Viet Nam from September 6 to 10..

  • Please turn in your economy's reply to the Survey on Metrological Control for Medical Measurements.

  • Mr. Galbadrakh Gantumur took over the contact of Mongolia on Sep. 27.

  • Mr. Wu-Hsiung Chen took over the contact of Chinese Taipei from Mr. Jenn-Dong Juang on September 21.

  • Dr. Choe Hui Jong has replaced Dr. Kim Hyong Chol as the contact person of DPR Korea on September 13. Dr. Choe is now the president of SAQM.

  • The deadline for the 13th APLMF Meetings registration is approaching. Please submit your registration and make a hotel reservation by September 29.

  • The contact person of Indonesia has been taken over by Mr. Rusmin Amin on September 6.


  • "APEC/APLMF Training Course in Legal Metrology (CTI-11/2006T): Training Course on LPG Fuel Dispensers" was held from August 28 through September 1 in Shanghai. 24 trainees from 14 economies attended.


AUGUST

  • Handbook on Prepackaged Goods has been sent to the member economies and the training course participants. This is the final report of "Practical Application of OIML Recommendation R87 on Prepackaged Goods", which was held on April 3-7 in Malaysia.Contact us for additional copies.

  • WG on Medical Measurement is conducting the Survey on Metrological Control for Medical Measurements. Please send us your reply by September 30.

  • The deadline to turn in the 13th Meetings documents is October 20.
    • We wish to have the economy reports from all APLMF member economies AND the activity reports from SRBs, BIML and RLMOs by the date.

  • The invitation to the 13th APLMF Meetings has been sent to the member economies and international / regional bodies.


  • "APEC/APLMF Training Course in Legal Metrology (CTI-11/2006T): Training Course on LPG Fuel Dispensers is scheduled from Aug. 28 through Sep. 1 at the Bund Hotel in Shanghai. The registration has been closed. Information is available online.

JULY

  • Mr. Oke Nurwan has replaced Mr. Hari Prawoko as APLMF contact person of Indonesia.


  • The result of the Survey on Quality Measurement on Agricultural Products is now available online.


  • The Secretariat is seeking experts to speak at the Workshop on Metrology of Agricultural Products and Foods, which will be held on Feb. 7-9, 2007 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Please refer to the invitation letter for more information.


  • "APEC/APLMF Training Course in Legal Metrology (CTI-11/2006): Training Course on CNG Fuel Dispensers" was held on June 27-30 in Shah Alam, Malaysia. 36 trainees from 14 economies attended.


  • The APLMF Working Groups Meeting & Thirteenth Forum Meeting is going to be held on November 15-17 at the Furama City Centre Singapore. The invitation letter will be sent to the members in the middle of July.

  • The deadline of the survey "Call for Candidates of the APLMF President" is July 31st.

JUNE

  • Mr. Stephen O'Brien of New Zealand succeeded to the chair of WG on Goods Packed by Measure on June 20 after Mr. David Morris resigned.


  • The contact person of Malaysia was taken over by Mr. Mohd Khalis Bin Kasim .

  • The registration for "APEC/APLMF Training Course in Legal Metrology (CTI-11/2006T): Training Course on LPG Fuel Dispensers" is now open. The registration form is available online. The registration deadline is July 31.


  • The APLMF Working Groups Meeting & Thirteenth Forum Meeting is going to be held on November 15-17 in Singapore.

APRIL

  • The registration for "APEC/APLMF Training Course in Legal Metrology (CTI-11/2006T): Training Course on CNG Fuel Dispensers" is open now. The program, registration form, and hotel reservation form are available online.The registration deadline is June 1.

  • The Secretariat will be closed from April 29 through May 7 due to the holidays.

  • "The Report of the Twelfth Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Legal Metrology Forum" has been published and sent to the member economies and international/regional organizations.

  • The official application form for the next presidency has been mailed to the full member economies. Please reply with your answer by July 31.

  • The APLMF Secretariat and the WG on Measurement of Moisture Content of Agricultural Commodities are conducting the "Survey on Quality Measurement on Agricultural Products" among the member economies. Please send us the Reply Form by June 30, 2006.

  • APEC/APLMF Seminars and Training Courses in Legal Metrology: Practical Application of OIML Recommendation R87 on Pre-packaged Goods was successfully completed. It was held on April 3-7 in Shah Alam, Malaysia. 42 trainees from 16 economies were present. The lectures and reports are now available on our website.

  • The contact person of Hong Kong, China was taken over by Mr. Y C Wong on April 11.

  • The deadline for the payment of Membership Fee 2006 is April 30th. If it is difficult to meet the due date, please let us know.

  • The reports and handbook of the training courses held between November 2004 and September 2005 have been published and sent to the member economies. Contact us for additional copies.

MARCH

  • The Report of the 12th APLMF Meeting is now available on our website to the members.

  • The Training Course on Electricity Meters was successfully completed. It was held on Feb.28 - Mar.3 in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. 35 trainees from 12 economies attended. The lectures and reports are now available on our website.

  • The Training Course: Practical Application of OIML Recommendation R87 on Pre-packaged Goods starts on April 3 in Shah Alam, Malaysia.

  • The final reports of four training courses held between November 2004 and September 2005 are uploaded onto our website.

  • The Directory of Legal Metrology in the Asia-Pacific Region: Fourth Edition is now available on our website.

FEBRUARY

  • The first draft of the minutes of the 12th APLMF Meeting was uploaded onto our website. Please contact us by Feb. 28th for your feedback.

  • The Training Course on Electricity Meters is going to be held on Feb.28 - Mar.3 in Ho Chi Minh City.

  • The deadline for the updated documents for "Directory of Legal Metrology in the Asia-Pacific Region: Fourth Edition" is Feb. 28.

  • The deadline for the registration of Practical Application of OIML Recommendation R87 on Pre-packaged Goods is Feb. 28.

  • The President attended the APEC SCSC meeting on February 22-24 in Hanoi,Viet Nam.
JANUARY
  • The invoice for the APLMF Membership Fee 2006 has been sent to the member economies. The due is Apr. 30. Please be advised that there was some changes in our bank account effective from Jan. 1, 2006 due to the bank merger. Please contact us for more information.

  • The password for the APLMF website was changed. The new password will be announced to the members within the 1st week of January.
