Visa, Venue, Accommodation and Transport Information
Information on the meeting venue location, accommodation and getting around.

​​​​​1. Meeting venue, location and transportation
The venue for this year's meetings is The Grand Hotel located in Bandung, Indonesia. The Grand Hotel is Taipei’s first five star hotel, and one of its representatives. You can check out information of the venue location here. 

​Taipei is one of the most famous metropolises in the world, situated in the northern part of the island in a basin surrounded by the Yangming Mountains and the Central Mountains. It serves as the island's financial, cultural, and governmental center.
​
Flights from Outside of Indonesia

The Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE IATA) is the primary international airport of Chinese Taipei. This international airport is actually located in the Taoyuan City instead of Taipei. The airport is about 30 km from Taipei. It takes only 35-45 minutes to drive from Taoyuan Airport to downtown Taipei. To reach Taipei, various means of transport are available to passengers, including the Taoyuan Airport MRT, bus and taxi.

  • Taoyuan Airport MRT
The Taoyuan Airport MRT shortens the distance between Taipei and Taoyuan with the express service taking only 35 minutes from the Taoyuan Airport Terminal 1 station to the Taipei Main Station and 38 minutes from the Terminal 2 station to the Taipei Main Station. Even the commuter service that stops at all stations takes only an additional 15 minutes. The fast and convenient service is a great choice for international travellers to commute between the airport and Taipei City.
 
Upon arrival at Taoyuan airport, just follow the signs to the Airport MRT. Both T1 and T2 Arrival Halls are on the 1st (ground) floor. Go to the front and take the escalator or elevator down to the Taoyuan airport MRT station. At the airport MRT station, you will be going from A13 or A12 to A1 (Taipei main station). The purple line is the express train. When you arrive at the A1, you should exit from platform B3 into the B1M, follow the signs to Taipei MRT’s Tamsui–Xinyi Line (Red Line). You will also need to walk through a series of underground tunnels for about 10-15 minutes.

​​​Express Train and Commuter Train

From the Terminal 1 station, the express train takes 35 minutes to arrive at the Taipei Main Station and the commuter train takes 50 minutes.
From the Terminal 2 station, the express train takes 38 minutes to arrive at the Taipei Main Station and the commuter train takes 53 minutes.

Directions to the Airport MRT Station
Terminal 1: The escalator located at the south of B1 Food Court leads to the Airport Terminal 1 Station (A12 station).
Terminal 2: The pathway at the side of B2 Food Court leads to Airport Terminal 2 Station (A13 station).

  • Taxi
Taxis are available at the airport, and the journey to The Grand Hotel takes around 40-50 minutes.

  • Airport Shuttle Bus
The Kuo-Kuang Bus from the airport to the Taipei main station. Buses operate regularly, and the uses operate regularly, and the journey takes approximately 1-1.5 hours.

3. Visa information
 Information on Visa to Chinese Taipei is available at https://dfa-oca.ph/visa/visa-general-info/

Foreign nationals may obtain tourist visas if they hold foreign passports or travel documents valid for more than six months for purposes of sightseeing, study or training or other legitimate activities. Visa requirements included one completed application form, incoming and outgoing travel tickets, one photo, documents verifying the purpose of the visits, and other relevant documents. The Visitor Visa Application Form can be downloaded from the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The completed form should be submitted to an overseas mission of the Republic of China for visa issuance.

Currency:  
The currency of Taiwan is the new Taiwan dollar (NT$):
Paper Currency: NT$2,000, NT$1,000, NT$500, NT$200, and NT$100
Coins: NT$50, NT$20, NT$10, NT$5, and NT$1

Curency exchange:
Foreign currencies can be exchanged at government designated banks , airport and hotels. Receipts are given when currency is exchanged, and must be presented in order to exchange unused NT dollars before departure.

Foreign exchange banks:
Please refer to the Central Bank’s List of Financial Institutions and the Financial Supervisory Commission website.
Opening hours: Mondays through Fridays, 09:00-15:30. Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.

Climate: 
In November, Taiwan experiences a pleasant and mild climate. The average temperatures range from approximately 20-25 degrees Celsius (68-77 degrees Fahrenheit). Days are generally warm, while evenings may be cooler, especially in mountainous areas. November marks the autumn season in Taiwan, and rainfall tends to decrease compared to the previous months. Most regions experience reduced chances of precipitation, although occasional short showers may still occur.  ​

Language: 
The official language in Taiwan is Mandarin Chinese, spoken widely across the island. English is commonly used in hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers, making communication convenient for travellers. Most taxi drivers also have some proficiency in English. To ensure a smooth journey, it is advised to have the address of your destination written down.

Dress Code:  
Business dress for meetings and smart casual attire is appropriate for the social events. ​

Electricity power supply: 
The residential mains supply voltage in Taiwan is 110 V with a frequency of 60 Hz and the most commonly used socket types are type A and type B as shown below.

​Generally speaking, the original charger of your consumer electronics products (such as notebooks, smart phones, etc) are designed to be used in the range of 110 V to 240. However, the plug type of your charger may be different from the commonly used ones in Taiwan. It is recommended that visitors bring a suitable plug adapter in case the plug type in your country is different from Taiwan’s.
