APLMF Membership Criteria
Membership to the APLMF is open to legal metrology authorities established by an economy within the Asia-Pacific Region and other economies within the region with links to APEC.
Full membership is available to:
APLMF membership has three membership categories:
Observer category support economies in the wider region, not aligned with APEC but who are interested in improving legal metrology capability within their economy.

Full membership annual fees
Full membership is available to:
- APEC members
- Official APEC observer members
- ASEAN members
- Pacific Island Forum (PIF) members
- Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) members

- Full access and voting rights at forum meetings
- Voting on member papers and documents
- Access to training programmes
- Involvement in the development and publication of guide documents.
- Participation in Working Groups that interest their economy’s priorities
- Participation in surveys which are used to establish APLMF priorities
- Subsidised attendance at the annual forum meeting
Corresponding membership benefits:
- Invitation to attend the forum meeting as an observer at a cost of US$300 per person
- Access to training programmes
- Access to publications and guide documents
Observer category benefits:
- Invitation to attend the Annual Forum and Working Group Meeting. Attendees at the Meetings would be required to pay an attendance fee of US$500 per person.
- Promotional content and technical guides.
- Invitation to attend training programmes.
Note: Observers would not be eligible for full or corresponding membership.
Full membership annual fees
- The APLMF fee structure is an equitable membership fee structure based on an economies economic development discounted for GDP per capita.
- There are five categories
Fee Structure and Current Members
From 2020 Corresponding Member economies will be charged an annual fee of USD250 per annum and attendance at the Annual Forum meeting will attract a fee of USD300 per person to be paid before attendance.

Fee from 2023 - 2025
At the 29th APLMF Forum Meeting Resolutions members agreed to a methodology to re-index the Member Economies to ensure that the fee structure remains effective and appropriate, and the results will be reported to the 30th APLMF Forum Meeting in 2023 for members’ recommendations.
Members agreed that the APLMF Secretariat and EC will complete another review of the membership fees and indexing with recommendations for change, and the result will be proposed to the 31st Forum Meeting in 2024. After this membership fees’ review is approved, it will be implemented in 2026.
During this period, members agreed that the membership fees and indexing of the Member Economies will not change from 2023 to 2025 (inclusive).
